WHY BECOME A PLS SPEAKER?

Becoming a PLS speaker means taking the stage before Canada’s largest primary and front-line care community, an audience of decision-makers, clinicians and managers who come not only to listen, but to move ideas forward. It also means joining leading voices from across the healthcare system, on a stage where ideas become tangible drivers of change: new policies, better practices and lasting partnerships. Beyond visibility, it is an opportunity to showcase your expertise or bring a high-potential initiative to the forefront, while helping shape the future of primary care across Canada.

A PLATFORM TO ADVANCE PRACTICE

At PLS, your voice carries well beyond the minutes you spend on stage. Keynotes, co-design workshops, roundtables, panels, immersive capsules: every format is designed to turn ideas into action, not simply leave an impression. Some sessions are also recorded and featured in our newsletters, allowing your expertise to continue circulating long after your appearance, across a community that returns from one edition to the next ready to turn ideas into action.

HOW DO I BECOME A SPEAKER?

Call for proposals 2027

December 1st , 2026 to February 12, 2027

Submitting an idea or a speaker to PLS means starting a journey, not simply filling out a form. The official call for proposals for the 2027 edition will run from December 1, 2026 to February 12, 2027. If your proposal is selected, our concierge team takes over and supports you all the way to the stage—logistics and a preparation guide sent by email; nothing is left to chance.

Next comes the commitment that truly sets PLS apart: being on stage is not enough—it remains fleeting if it does not lead to any connections. That is why every speaker who takes part in a PLS event also agrees to participate fully. This extended participation and experience often opens other doors: serving on a jury, taking part in speed-dating or mentoring meetings, or joining a structuring activity (workshop, roundtable, etc.). So many opportunities for a speaker’s expertise to continue to shine long after their time on stage.

That is the spirit of the “Acting Together” theme for the 2027 edition of PLS: we are looking for stories that prove it—unexpected collaborations that changed the game, initiatives that broke out of silos to move faster, ideas that took shape because the right people came together at the right time, or expertise to help us spark collective momentum on the ground.

CONTENT FORMATS

At PLS, formats are dynamic and interactive—designed to engage as much as to inform. Keynotes, fireside chats, panels, collaborative workshops, masterclasses, and roundtables set the pace for the main program. On the EXPO PLS stages, solution sessions offer a shorter format that is closer to the audience, in a spirit of sharing and accessibility: 15 minutes of presentation followed by 15 minutes of direct discussion with the audience (Q). Pitch competitions are also part of the program, where the energy of competition helps move ideas forward. Beyond the content, each format is an opportunity to meet inspiring people—the ones who drive change in the network every day.

FAQ

When is the call for proposals for PLS 2027?
The call for proposals runs from December 1, 2026 to February 12, 2027. This is the period to submit your session proposal or speaker proposal for the next edition of PLS. Follow us online so you do not miss the launch.
Do I need to buy a conference pass if I am invited as a speaker to present on an EXPO PLS stage?
Yes. Being invited to present on an EXPO PLS stage requires purchasing a conference pass: with more than 150 speakers over two days, PLS cannot offer free access to everyone. Your pass does, however, give you access to the full program and conference activities, in addition to your time on stage and that excellent visibility.
What is the deadline to send my presentation (PPT/video) to the organizers?
Your presentation must be sent to the organizing team no later than May 31, to allow for technical tests and stage preparation before the event. After this deadline, we cannot guarantee the integration of your final adjustments.
How should I name and send my presentation?
Once your presentation is ready, you must send it to presentation@productionsplakett.ca. Please include the session name in the subject line.

Name your file as follows: year_month_day, followed by the presentation time (e.g., 11H30), then the first three words of your session title, with each element separated by an underscore. Example: 2027_06_17_11H30_Aging_in_good_health.
How long should my biography be?
Your biography should be between 5 and 8 lines—enough to present your background and expertise without weighing down the program. Focus on what is relevant to your topic rather than your entire professional career.
What equipment will be available on stage?
The main stages are equipped with a microphone (headset or handheld), lectern, timer, and a screen to view your presentation. Microphones are also available to interact with the room. The more intimate stages are designed differently and do not necessarily offer the same equipment, but you will find the usual technology required for any standard presentation. Feel free to write to us at conciergespeakerspls@productionsplakett.ca
Will my session be recorded and broadcast?
Only sessions presented in the main program are recorded and broadcast on our YouTube channel, accessible via Beyond PLS. Presentations on the other stages are not recorded, but still benefit from excellent live visibility with attendees.
How long is a session?
The length depends on the selected format. Most of our sessions are short, to keep the room’s attention and leave space for discussion. Each includes a Q period, and this requirement is mandatory: it allows participants to respond directly to your content.
Is there a Q period after my presentation?
Yes, all our sessions include one. It is a mandatory requirement. It allows the audience to respond, go deeper, and leave with concrete answers. The time allotted is adjusted to the session format.
Are my travel expenses reimbursed?
PLS does not reimburse travel or accommodation expenses and does not pay speaker fees. In return, each speaker receives a two-day conference pass, providing access to the full program and networking.
Can I propose multiple topics during the call for proposals?
Yes, you may submit up to two proposals as part of the call for proposals. Each topic is evaluated separately based on its relevance to the program—focus on quality rather than quantity. However, PLS does not allow the same speaker to take the stage two years in a row, giving new voices the opportunity to be heard.
